Claythorpe Watermill
About
Tranquil and laid back, Claythorpe is a small, family run destination in the grounds of our 300-year-old landmark watermill. We have an excellent fully licensed café which is is open to all, and there’s a small admission fee if you’d like to visit the animals or use the play area. The mill itself last ran in the late 1970s but you can still see the remaining Victorian millworks in what’s now the café, where you can read more about its industrial history. We’re a small place and most people will allow a couple of hours for their visit, staying for lunch or coffee and cake. But there’s no hurry so why not feed the birds or take your time over a local craft ale or a glass of wine? Claythorpe’s riverside setting, great food, and laid-back atmosphere make for part of a perfect day out. But you can also stop in for a quick coffee or an ice cream if you’re just passing through.
