Bekonscot Model Village & Railway
About
Bekonscot Model Village is the world’s oldest original model village, nestled on 1.5 acres of immaculate gardens in Beaconsfield, just 40 minutes north of London. Created in 1929, it brings to life a slice of 1930s rural England with over 200 intricately detailed buildings, 2000+ miniature inhabitants, and a fleet of model trains that tumble along a 10‑mile gauge 1 track. Families, children and train enthusiasts are greeted by a wide range of activities: a 7 ¼‑inch light railway for gentle rides, a pirate‑themed playground, interactive animal experiences and the unique High Shrunkham Junction where visitors can drop down to explore the village from a tiny perspective. Dining and gift options are housed in a charming Mk 1 carriage, and a dedicated event room – the Norman Heaton Room – offers fully equipped space for meetings and group visits. As a charity run by the Roland Callingham Foundation, entrance admission is priced modestly, beginning at £14 for adults, with a 10% discount for bookings made at least 48 hours in advance.
