About

The Lincolnsfields Centre is home to the 1940's Experience. We are open to the public the last Sunday of the months January - November and the first Sunday in December. During World War 2 the site was USAAF 8th Fighter Command Headquarters with a room dedicated to the history of the site. The open days will give you an experience of nostalgia, taking you back in time. Walking through the 1940's house you will be able to have a visual and hand on experience. If that's not enough for you, visit the Dig for Victory garden and see how fires were put out during the Blitz. Take a ride in the jeep and experience what it was like to be in London during an air raid and take cover in a shelter. If you need to rest pop in to the NAAFI and have a cup of tea and cake, the girls will always have a smile when serving. On some of the Sundays our residential band "The Mustangs" perform live music. Throughout your visit our excellent team of volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions.
