Solent Sky Museum
About
Solent Sky Museum is the celebrated home of the iconic Spitfire and the world’s largest flying‑boat operation, situated on Albert Road South in Southampton, UK. The museum houses more than 20 aircraft covering the golden age of aviation from the 1910s to the 1960s, including a fully‑complete Supermarine Spitfire, a Short Sandringham flying‑boat, a Supermarine S6A from the 1929 Schneider Trophy race, and a range of other historic aircraft from the early days of powered flight. Guided tours are available for select planes such as the flight‑deck of the Sandringham and cockpit walk‑throughs of the Supermarine Swift and Harrier. In addition to aviation exhibits, the museum also hosts the Hampshire Police & Fire Heritage Trust, offering visitors insight into local emergency services history.
