About

The City of Rochester Society was formed in 1967 & has been providing guided tours of this beautiful & fascinating place for over forty years. Our tours include the many links to Charles Dickens, as well as stories from the last 2,000 years. Open tours (donations to society funds are welcome) are 90 minutes long & start at 2.15 pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays from the first Saturday in April until the end of October, plus all bank holidays, the Christmas Market weekends, & during the Dickensian Christmas festival. We also run 45 minute open tours at 10:45 am during the Dickensian Christmas festival. All open tours start from outside the former Visitor Information Centre at 95 High Street ME1 1LX (next to Fieldstaff Antiques). We also offer booked tours for groups, & charges can be viewed on our website.
