Please note - facilities are limited this year due to redevelopment plans. The cafe is not open, but, from the 25th of March through to the end of October 2024 we will be providing a food trailer offering light refreshments, a pop-up shop, and toilets. Plus, for a short time the 'Story of the Sones' will be open where you can get an insight into the history and mystery of the Calanais Stone Circle. Urras nan Tursachan (the Standing Stones Trust) set up the Calanais Visitor Centre, and it was first opened to the public 30 June 1995. After nearly thirty years of successful operation, the Centre is hoping to undergo major redevelopment, transforming it into a first-class amenity. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by limited facilities and thank you for your understanding.
