Stirling Distillery
About
Stirling Distillery is a small family‑run craft spirit producer located in the historic ‘Old Smiddy’ building at the foot of Stirling Castle. The distillery’s gin, made with hand‑foraged nettles and other locally sourced botanicals, has won several national awards, while its new‑make whisky— Scotland’s smallest distillery again— is set to debut in 2027. Visitors can take a guided tour of the cellars and tasting rooms, sample a menu of gin, whisky and liqueur, and tour the on‑site shop that features exclusive gift sets and a range of boutique spirits. The distillery also hosts cocktail masterclasses, seasonal events and a small on‑site café, making it an excellent day‑trip destination for families, history enthusiasts and couples alike. There is no admission fee to visit the premises, but most tours and tastings are available for a small fee— £15 for the Mini Tasting package— and the distillery’s booking page allows you to reserve a slot in advance if you wish to avoid queues during busy periods.
