Porters - The Prince of Wales
About
Following complete transformation and refurbishment, the pub recently reopened under new management and has reintroduced a larger range of rotating cask ales, craft beers and ciders, also a new kitchen and food offer. The pub is now a large L Shaped, one room operation, with the bar to the right, 2 fireplaces in a comfortable lounge area to the left. To the rear are seating booths, the kitchen and externally the beer garden. On the walls are reproduction signs, pictures and memorabilia of the towns old silk industry. The pub doesn't have it's own car park, the main Duke Street public car park is right behind although you do have to pay during the day until 6pm, also parking, almost opposite facing Tesco Metro and adjacent to the Heritage Centre. Porters - The Prince of Wales was recently under threat of demolition as part of the town centre renovation plan
