Tegg’s Nose Country Park
About
Tegg’s Nose Country Park is a rugged hilltop park in the heart of Cheshire’s wild countryside, offering dramatic cliff‑clad landscapes, ancient stone walls, and sweeping views of the Cheshire Plain. The site is a former gravel quarry, now a popular destination for walkers, climbers, and geology enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities: free hiking trails, a dedicated climbing and abseiling wall open to individuals and groups (with an online booking form), a petrological walk‑through the ‘Tegg’s Nose Rocks!’ geology trail, and seasonal orienteering courses. The Visitor Centre provides maps, safety information and a café, while parking is free outside of 10 am–10 pm hours, with small charges during the day or an annual permit. Whether you’re a local resident looking for a brisk walk or a visitor exploring the North West, Tegg’s Nose delivers breathtaking scenery, outdoor adventure and educational wildlife spotting for all ages.
