Alton Towers Resort
About
Alton Towers Resort is England’s largest themed destination, combining a world‑class amusement park, a vibrant waterpark, a collection of luxury hotels and a sprawling garden estate. The resort draws on a rich history that dates back to the 18th‑century estate of the Earls of Shrewsbury, but it was in 1980 that the gardens were re‑imagined as an iconic attraction with themed areas such as X‑Sector, Mutiny Bay and CBeebies Land. Today the park welcomes roughly two‑million guests annually and offers over 70 rides—including 10 roller coasters, including The Smiler, the world‑record 14‑inversion coaster—as well as dining, retail and entertainment venues. Operating each year from mid‑March to early November, the resort’s combination of thrill, family fun and historic ambience makes it a must‑visit destination for adventure seekers and history lovers alike.
