Avebury is a Neolithic henge monument located in the South‑West of England, renowned for its massive stone circle – the largest of its kind in Britain. Dating from roughly 2850 to 2200 BC, the site features the great outer circle, two inner circles, and an encompassing bank and ditch, all set amid an expansive chalk landscape. Managed by the National Trust on behalf of English Heritage, Avebury forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site ‘Stonehenge, Avebury, and Associated Sites’.
