About
The museum is open every weekend and bank holiday from Easter until the end of October 2.00pm - 5.00 pm. Midweek group visits can be arranged privately by contacting the curator. It was opened in 1984 and covers local history, archaeology, the author Thomas Hughes and the poet laureate Sir John Betjeman. Exhibitions also explain the history of the 3000 year old Uffington White Horse and the ancient Waylands Smithy. Our exhibition for 2024 commemorates the Wellington Bomber DV595 that crashed in a field outside Uffington with the loss of 6 lives.
