The Bear is a 17th Century coaching inn that reflects Wiveliscombe's heritage. The Bear is a traditional English pub where the atmosphere is friendly and convivial, where young and old and families mix. Dogs on leads are welcome in the pub and outside patio areas. We serve ales produced in our very own on-site microbrewery - our Head Brewer Tom, is onsite daily, working hard in the Black Bear Brewery, to craft the freshest cask ales for The Bear Inn and our other sister pubs. Our newly updated microbrewery is open Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm, and can be found in the beer garden towards the rear of the pub (just follow the hop aromas!) We serve many different real ales throughout the year to compliment our food and specials menu, which changes regularly to reflect the changing seasons. We have a newly refurbished dining room away from the main bar area and a large garden to the rear of the pub with lots of tables and seating and a children's play area.
