Greenway
About
Greenway, a National Trust estate in Devon, is an atmospheric Georgian house set on the River Dart and surrounded by a stunning mix of woodland gardens, walled gardens and riverside paths. Formerly the holiday home of Agatha Christie, the estate showcases her personal collections of ceramics, silver and books, as well as archaeological artefacts from her travels with her husband, archaeologist Max Mallowan. Visitors can enjoy a walk through the house’s elegant rooms, explore the boathouse that features in Christie’s novel *Dead Man’s Folly*, and discover the Napoleonic gun battery that once guarded the Dart. The spacious gardens offer quiet spots for picnics, a wild edge, and a viary of plants from the south‑horn. Whether you’re a literary fan, a nature lover or simply looking for a serene outdoor escape, Greenway provides a picturesque setting that invites you to immerse yourself in history, art and the beauty of the English countryside.
