Rylstone is a beautiful Georgian village house with a large walled garden and pool. We offer stunning accommodation aimed at families. We are friendly and flexible in our approach and we know how to make travelling with kids relaxing and fun. The Space This suite of 2 beautiful, light and airy rooms in our large Georgian village home is ideal for families. The pink room has a king size bed. The adjoining blue room has 2 twin beds and a well stocked toy chest! There is a bathroom with a shower over the bath. We can also provide a cot if required. In the summer we have a huge garden and orchard complete with swimming pool in which to let off steam. In winter there are open fires and board games. Guest Access Guests are encouraged to help themselves to tea, coffee and breakfast in the guest breakfast room, although a wide range of cooked breakfasts can be offered by arrangement. Our resident hens are always laying and so fresh eggs are available. We also benefit from being next door to a farm shop and so produce is as local as you can get! We also provide an honesty bar from which guests can help themselves. We have a large walled garden and an orchard which guests are welcome to explore. We also have a paddock with friendly sheep and a pony. We do have a swimming pool which is available to use by arrangement and at the guests own risk. Cream teas and evening meals can be made available on request, particularly for children meaning we can then offer a babysitting service by arrangement should parents wish to go out to eat. Interaction with Guests The guest accommodation is all at one end of the house and and so whilst guests are very welcome to join us should they wish, they can also keep themselves to themselves. We are often on hand to offer tips for days out, walking and eating. The Neighbourhood Martinstown is a friendly and active village just 2 miles from the county town of Dorchester. We benefit from a really friendly village shop and a great pub. We are also next to a farm shop which sells good coffee and delicious cake! My favourite thing about where we live however has to be the easy access to the fabulous Jurassic Coast. I am always happy to point guests in the direction of the best beaches and the quieter 'locals only' spots. Nearby there are fantastic attractions such as Monkey World, The Tank Museum, Abbotsbury Swannery and more. There is also fantastic walking available from the house as well as many great eateries nearby. Getting around Guests can park on the property. There is a bus into Dorchester which runs morning and evening. Dorchester has 2 train stations which are no more than 3 miles from Rylstone. By arrangement we can provide a collection/ drop off service to either of the Dorchester stations. Other Things to Note Rylstone is next door to a beautiful village church and so can be made available for weddings by arrangement. We are flexible in our approach and would be happy to discuss using the beautiful garden for a marquee or similar.
