Located in a beautiful C17th building in the historic east side of Whitby, the area most asscociated with Whitby Jet jewellery manufacturing throughout history. The Ebor Jetworks has recently featured on BBC Countryfile, where we took the team on a Jet hunting trip before showing them how we worked the material back in the workshop. Described by customers as "A real Gem", our independant family run business gives visitors an opportunity to learn all about Whitby Jet, its history, geology, gemmology, folklore, myth and magic, from our expert research gemmologst ( FGA, DGA and doctoral researcher),as well as watch our talented artisans work from the rough stone into finished pieces of jewellery, right in front of you. Both traditional and contemporary pieces are designed, created and sold on the premises. There is also a large selection of fine victorian antique Whitby Jet mourning jewellery if you are looking for that unique piece of British history.
