Whitby Harbour is a bustling maritime hub situated on the northeastern coast of England, south of the River Tees and north of the Humber. Its historic pier, fishing quays and modern cargo facilities make it a popular destination for both industry and visitors alike. The harbour offers a wide range of services for fishing, passenger and cargo vessels. Fishermen can access a range of moorings, including the Fish Quay and the New Quay Road Dock End Basin, each with their own facilities such as freshwater, diesel and ice. Passenger operators can take advantage of the designated East Side/PARTY PONTOON and the East Side/PARTY PONTOON from 1 April to 31 October, with a preference for passenger‑taking craft. For commercial operators, the large Endeavour Wharf provides berth space for ships up to 85 metres LOA, with specialised cargo handling capabilities. The harbour’s flat dock and modern storage area allow for a diverse range of commodities—including steel, grain and timber—to be accommodated, making Whitby Harbour a vital link in regional trade.
