Located in the small coastal village of Ravenglass, Elmira and Maid of Kent are Pullman Camping Coaches overlooking the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway line. Once forgotten, the coaches have been lovingly brought back to life and their fascinating history is now on display and transports you back in time to a bygone era. The carriage’s original features have been uncovered and sympathetically restored, including the ‘Pullman Car No.’ plaques in the lounge and the beautiful marquetry that has been delicately repaired and now adorns the walls throughout the carriages. Available for self-catering holidays, they bring new meaning to the term ‘railway sleeper’! Alternatively, on platform 1 you will find the quaint Hilton Cottage, which was once the railway manager's residence.
