Eskdale Campsite
About
Eskdale Campsite is a National Trust‑owned retreat nestled in the valley of the River Esk, surrounded by meadow, woodland, crags and waterfalls. With 110 pitches and pods it offers a range of options: tents, campervans, motorhomes, basic pods and a single bell tent. The site caters to families and dog owners, with dedicated dog‑friendly pitches and a pet‑friendly living area. Facilities include showers, toilets, a shop, laundry, Wi‑Fi and a play area. The campsite opens for the main season from 28 February to 4 January, with a brief winter closure in late December; check‑in starts at 2 pm and departures at 10 am. The convenient location puts village pubs and waterfalls within walking distance, while the surrounding fells offer walking routes and opportunities to explore nearby attractions such as the Hardknott Roman Fort and Blea Tarn.
