Learn how oats, barley and wheat was milled in the picturesque Boot village until the 1930's and find out more about the history of Eskdale valley. Eskdale Mill is the oldest water powered corn mill in the Lake District National Park. Dating back to the 1500's, this unique gem consists of Grade 2* listed buildings with double overshot waterwheels and original milling machinery as well as award-winning interactive exhibitions, a modern hydro-electric waterwheel and scenic picnic spots. Situated alongside Whillan Beck and its cascades, this makes for a fascinating, inspirational and relaxing visit for all of the family.
