Lanty Slee was The Lake District’s most notorious moonshiners, distilling his spirit in caves all over the Langdale valley. From 1841 court records we discovered his ingredients and we have reimagined his potato moonshine, whisky and rum. Lanty would of passed The Stickle Barn on his packhorse on route to pick up supplies in Ravenglass using the treacherous Wrynose pass, a 4 day round trip! We offer hearty meals, cakes, ice cream, cocktails, local ales and more all set to the fabulous back drop of the Langdale valley. Open from 10am to 10pm every day.
