A glorious 120 acre garden of trees from around the world set in a stunning landscape of parkland, lakes and ponds in the historic setting of the Castle Howard estate near York. New trees are planted each year, and the grounds enhanced by idyllic wildflower meadows and large numbers of spring- and early summer-flowering bulbs. Wander off by yourself to explore or join one of our free weekly guided tours (details on our website). The Woodland Playground is fantastic fun for little ones while our events programme of gardening visits and lectures, children's holiday activities, flora and fauna special interest events, craft workshops and outdoor activities ensures there's always something to do and see here. There's also a tea-room serving delicious, seasonal, home-cooked food, and a variety of souvenirs and gifts are available in the Arboretum Shop.
