The art nouveau villa Villa Rein in Bad Reichenhall, part of the town’s history since 1898, now shines in new splendor after an eventful development. Originally built as a spa hotel, it survived the war and experienced an upswing in tourism in the 1950s. Under the management of Gertraud and Helmut Rein, it became a magnet for those seeking relaxation and gourmet lovers. The unchanged exterior façade and preserved interior architecture secured it a place on the Bavarian list of monuments in 1982. Since 2019, Villa Rein has shone in new splendor after a general renovation as the first boutique hotel in Berchtesgadener Land and was named Germany’s most beautiful hotel in 2024.
