About
Near the entrance to the Planica valley, not far from the village of Ratece, rests the recurrent lake Ledine. The lake fills with water in autumn and spring when there is an abundance of rain, while it freezes during the winter months. As the summer warms up the air, the lake disappears leaving a patch of lush grass for the local farmers to cut. The waters of the lake are said to be connected to the Sava Dolinka and Nadiza rivers.
