About
The Vienna U-Bahn is Vienna’s rapid transit network, serving the Austrian capital since 1978. It presently consists of five main lines (U1–U4, U6) stretched over 83 km with 109 stations, and it is operated by Wiener Linien. The system provides frequent service from 5:00 am until around 1:00 am, with 24‑hour operation on Friday and Saturday evenings and during public holidays. Designed for efficient, high‑capacity urban travel, the U‑Bahn is an integral part of Vienna’s public‑transport network, connecting the city’s residential districts with its historic centre and major transport hubs.
