WalkinGent
About
WalkinGent is the platform of city guides with a passion for Ghent. Our classics are the Highlights of Ghent or the History of Ghent or a walk through the borough, called "Patershol" that once was part of the estate of the counts of Flanders. Are you in for laugh and anecdotes and lively interaction with your guide, then you may well like our walk on Emperor Charles. Our "Fake News in the Middle Ages"-walk teaches you that it wasn't Trump who invented the concept thereof. Or maybe you'd like to know which "Tough women of the Middle Ages" are co-creators of Ghent's history. Our "Van Eyck"-walk takes you to buildings and places where the Van Eyck brothers must have dwelled or which can be seen on the Ghent Altarpiece. If you like to leave the trodden paths, then you might well like a walk through Ghent's students' district, unknown to many a foreign visitor but with a wealth of libraries and archives housed in architecturally interesting buildings.
