If you like delicious organic food and want to experience a traditional village, you'll love Wild Thyme. Described in the Guardian as Bulgaria's 'most ecologically committed and spiritually inspired' retreat - 'a labour of love and ingenuity'. On their organic small holding which includes pigs, goats and chicks, the owners, Claire and Chris, have created a homely eco guest cottage finished in natural mud plaster and limewash. Here, guests can join in taking the goats out, collecting eggs, foraging for mushrooms in May to pickling and wine making in September.There is lots to do in the area including visiting the World Heritage sites of Sveshtari Tombs, an ancient tomb still in pristine condition or the wonderful painted monastry at Ivanovo. The house sleeps 7;has 2 bathrooms, living room, modern kitchen/dining area & living room; private garden with bbq and undercover barn. Eco features include solar power, solar water and an extra compost toilet. Reiki or massage therapy available.
