Marin Drzic (Dubrovnik, 1508 - Venice, 1567) is the greatest Croatian playwright of all times, one of the most prominent Croatian writers and one of the most important authors of European renaissance comedy. He is to Croats what Dante is to Italians, Cervantes to Spaniards and Shakespeare to Englishmen. House of Marin Drzic is a dynamic cultural institution aspiring to become a scientific & research center to study and promote the name and work of Marin Drzic, through its exhibitive, publishing, pedagogic and educational activities, as well as its special events. We aim to bring Drzic closer to modern audiences and become a place where every visitor will travel back in time to the age of renaissance and experience life in Dubrovnik at the time.
