Zlatni Rat Beach (Golden Horn)
About
Zlatni Rat, also known as the Golden Cape, is a unique spit of land stretching southwest from the town of Bol on Croatia’s Brač island. Its classic V‑shaped shoreline is composed of white pebbles and fringed with a Mediterranean pine grove, making it a striking landmark on the Adriatic coast. The beach’s shape is dynamic, shifting with wind, tide, and wave action—especially during the south‑easterly “jugo” wind that can turn the tip left or right. In summer the spit typically lays straight or leans east, while in winter it may kink sharply, creating a constantly evolving landscape that delights photographers and beachgoers alike. Beyond its natural beauty, Zlatni Rat is a favored spot for windsurfing, kiteboarding, and swimming. The calm waters on the west side are warmer and suitable for families, while the more exposed hillside is popular with adventure‑seekers. Facilities are minimal, with an informational board and picnic areas, but the relaxed, family‑friendly atmosphere makes it a must‑visit destination on Croatia’s southern coast.
