Split is the biggest city on the coast of the Adriatic sea. The town of Split strikes the tourists with the Mediterranean style of its squares stone lanes and piazzas, sung in many songs. Villa Marul is located in such an ambience, almost at the sea front, crowded and teeming with life, which makes the town square very attractive. At Braća Radić square (Voćni trg) stands the bronze monument to Marko Marulić, the "father of Croatian literature", made by the hand of the genius sculptor Ivan Meštrović.On the north-western side, Villa Marul borders the famous Milesi Palace while the eastern facade, a few metres from the Palace of Diocletian separates it from the little square called "Mihovilova širina", named after the remains of St. Michael church in the 7 th and 8 th centuries.In the close vicinity there is the town car park.An extraordinary location offers a possibility of good links with the bus terminal, railway station and the city port which is 300 metres distant. Town beaches are 700-800 metres far.The airport is located in the suburb of Split, 25 kilometres from the town.
