Plum Yard About us The Plum Yard is the backdrop for the creation of new productions and projects by Continuo Theatre, a venue for residencies for artistic groups and individuals, as well as a cultural organisation that produces a regular programme for the public focusing on contemporary independent theatre and dance. The performances organised here are aimed at both young and old audiences. History In 1995, the members of the Continuo Theatre bought a former farmstead in the village of Malovice in South Bohemia and named it Plum Court. The sprawling farmhouse, built in 1868, became the home of Continuo Theatre and its members, a base for the group's year-round work and a venue for workshops, meetings and international projects. A community cultural space Continuo Theatre members' efforts to build, maintain and develop an arts centre operating outside the city are motivated by a desire to create an open working and living space not only for the group's own artistic work, but also for the work of other groups and individuals through residencies, theatre performances by visiting companies, workshops for children and adults, conferences, seminars, teaching programmes, community projects and other activities. After renovation in the new In 2015, the Plum Court was completely renovated and a new modern wooden multifunctional theatre hall was built on the site of the former barn. The space of the farmhouse was transformed into facilities for the company, residents and the public. In the same year, the theatre, cultural and educational centre Švestkový Dvůr was inaugurated.
