Kattegatcentret is Denmark’s oldest and largest aquarium, located on the picturesque coast of Grenaa. Since its opening in 1993, the centre has welcomed more than 6 million visitors, showcasing over 250 marine species from around the globe. The attraction’s highlight is the massive Oceanariet – a 1,500,000‑liter tank that recreates the local Kattegat environment, and the 550,000‑liter tropical shark tank, complete with a shark tunnel that allows guests to get up close to these magnificent predators. Visitors can also experience the playful penguin enclosure, the charismatic sea lion pool, and interactive touch tanks for hands‑on learning.
