The Carl Nielsen Museum is an experience filled with contrasts, where you’ll meet the funen composer, who wrote lengthy temperamental symphonies and popular songs rounded from the Danish culture and national mind and soul. Denmark’s most famous composer came from simple circumstances on Funen and played his way to the big concert halls of Copenhagen. As composer and as person, Carl Nielsen refused to be labeled and constantly pushed the boundaries. He has written music in every genre possible – symphonies, operas, music for plays, chamber music, choir works and songs – and the musical expression goes in many directions. In the Carl Nielsen Museum you get to experience the famous composer and his remarkable music up close through the interactive exhibitions.
