Hvidsten Kro
About
Hvidsten Kro is a historic Danish inn that dates back to 1634, making it one of the country’s oldest establishments. Located on Mariagervej in the charming town of Hvidsten, this royal‑priviligeret inn blends centuries‑old architecture with warm hospitality. The restaurant offers traditional Danish cuisine, prepared with seasonal produce and artisanal techniques. Guests can enjoy a relaxed lunch, a leisurely coffee‑and‑cake afternoon, or a late‑night meal in the spacious dining hall. For special occasions, private rooms accommodate between 14 and 100 guests, making it a popular venue for birthdays, weddings, and corporate events. Accommodation is available in the historic guest wing. Rooms are available from 15:00 on weekdays and closed on Sundays and Mondays to preserve the peaceful atmosphere. Single rooms with breakfast start at 685 DKK per night, double rooms at 845 DKK, and an extra child addition is available for 190 DKK. Reservations for both dining and lodging can only be made by phone. With high chairs for families, a children’s menu, and a welcoming island feel, Hvidsten Kro offers a truly Danish experience for locals and visitors alike.
