About

The New Almshouse that was built for the city poor became the church for the Swedish congregation after the Great Northern War. The restored church, which was used as a gymnasium during the Soviet period, was re-consecrated in 2002. The church has a Baroque altar (Joachim Armbrust) and pulpit as well as a unique baptistery (Christian Ackermann, 1680).
