For 6 weeks of the UK summer holidays, The Chateau opens its facilities to families who wish to experience a family adventure holiday. For the majority of the year the Chateau de la Baudonniere hosts schools wishing to take part in a French language immersion programme. Situated in the region of La Manche in Normandy. It is 90 minutes from Cherbourg and Caen, 15 minutes from Avranches, Villedieu-les-Poeles, the local beaches and the fishing port of Granville and 30 minutes from Coutances and Le Mont St Michel. The Chateau nestles in its own grounds which incorporate an orchard and cider press, boule pitch, farmyard, and a lake Various accommodation options are offered around the Château, family rooms, tree houses, yurts and a woodland cabin. This tried and tested activity holiday is full of highlights such as; local country and coastal bike tours, clay pigeon shootings and wine tasting for adults, raft building, canoeing, t-shirt making and climbing for the teens, favorites such as “it’s a knockout” and the assault course for the whole family, with circus, bread making and our mini farm for the younger ones. All this is within the confines of our resource rich 100 acre estate, which nestles in the Normandy countryside just north of Avranches.
