About

The Templars chose to establish their commandery in a verdant valley in a fold of the Larzac plateau, beside the river Cernon. Until the end ot the 12th century, Ste-Eulalie was the only Templar commandery in the Rouergue (now the department of the Aveyron). The commandery has conserved almost all its buildings and it is one of the best preserved in the south of France. The visit will plunge you into the past. You will find a village surrounded by 15th century walls and towers with a square and 17th century stone fountain, rather unusual on the Larzac. You will discover the Romanesque Church of the Templars, the refectory and the dormitory of the Hospitalers, the vast stairwell with its 17th century paintings ans the internal courtyard, still completely intact.
