Nougat Diane de Poytiers
About
In 1920, Charlotte and Antonin Chambonnière, devotees of history, founded the factory "Nougat Diane de Poytiers". Duchesse du Dauphinois in the 16th century, Diane de Poytiers, was, according to legend, one of the nougat’s ambassadors. A street and a 16th century house still bear his name to this day in the city centre of Montélimar. Thinking she would be a beautiful muse for their future nougat factory, Charlotte and Antonin decided to register her name as a trademark. This is the beginning of a family of Nougatiers in Montélimar, which has been going on for three generations. Today, Charlotte’s grandson, Frédéric Chambonnière, and his team continue the tradition. Its motto is to favour the use of local and authentic products such as honey and almonds in order to better control the quality of raw materials.
