About

Standing on a small knoll beside the sea, Olbia is the only site of its kind still preserved on the Mediterranean coast. Founded by the Greeks in the 4th century BC, the fortified town of Olbia, also known as “The Blessed”, was a maritime trading post. Many Greek and Roman remains have been revealed : baths, places of worship and homes. Remains of the mediaeval abbey of Saint-Pierre de l’Almanarre have also been discovered on the site.
