About

Troyes Cathedral, officially Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint‑Paul, is a striking example of French Gothic architecture. Situated in the historic center of Troyes in the Champagne region, its construction began in the early 13th century and was completed over several centuries, incorporating Late Gothic, Flamboyant, and Renaissance elements. The cathedral measures 114 m in length and 62 m in height, housing an extensive 1,500 m² collection of medieval stained glass spanning the 13th to the 17th century. The imposing west front, crowned by a magnificent rose window, dominates the skyline and features three soaring portals. Inside, rib‑vaulted ceilings, intricate carvings, and a richly adorned choir create a sense of awe. The treasury contains valuable reliquaries and precious metalwork. Open daily from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (though no tours are offered on Sunday mornings), visitors can experience this historic monument for free, with guided tours available by appointment.
