The Pergamon Museum, situated on Berlin’s Museum Island, houses one of the world’s most celebrated collections of ancient architecture and art. Its centerpiece remains the monumental Pergamon Altar, reconstructed from surviving marble fragments and displayed within a modern, open‑plan gallery. Other highlights include the Ishtar Gate, the Market Gate of Miletus and the Mshatta façade, all reconstructed to reflect their original grandeur. While the main museum building is currently closed for a decade‑long renovation, the adjacent Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama exhibition remains open and offers a 360‑degree digital projection of the Altar and its surroundings. Visitors can also explore the museum’s extensive virtual portal with 3‑D models and multimedia exhibitions.
