Highline179
About
Highline179 is a soaring 406‑metre suspension bridge that graces the Austrian‑German border near Reutte. Standing 114 metres above the grounds of the Ehrenberg castle ruins, it connects these historic fortifications with Fort Claudia. Designed to resemble a thin “tibet‑style” rope walk, the bridge offers a unique experience of walking above alpine scenery while enjoying a 360‑degree panorama of the surrounding mountains. Since its opening in November 2014, the structure has become a record holder for the world's longest pedestrian rope‑style bridge and a magnet for thrill‑seekers, photographers and families alike. With daily hours from 08:00 to 22:00, visitors can enjoy the bridge year‑round, even in winter snow and summer sun. The ticket price is modest—10 € for adults, 6 € for children aged 4 to 14, 30 € for a two‑adult plus child family ticket and 9 € for groups of 20 or more. Note that strollers are not permitted on the bridge, but access is barrier‑free via the EhrenbergLiner bus service. Parking is available at Klause 1 for a small fee of 5 €. The bridge’s dramatic height, record‑breaking design and breathtaking views make it a must‑visit attraction for anyone wishing to experience alpine adventure in a safe and spectacular setting.
