BMW Welt
About
The BMW Welt, nestled in Munich’s Am Riesenfeld district next to the Olympic Park, is a dynamic exhibition and delivery centre that showcases the full spectrum of the BMW Group – from classic cars to cutting‑edge electric models. Its striking glass‑roofed halls and futuristic design, conceived by COOP Himmelblau and completed in 2007, combine art, science and engineering in one monumental space. Every week, visitors can walk through the tilted, glass‑walled hall where custom‑ordered BMWs are staged for delivery, or explore rotating exhibitions that span the history of the brand, from the early 1930s to the new “Neue Klasse” of electric vehicles. The attraction is free of charge, making it a must‑visit for tourists and car enthusiasts alike. It attracts more than 2.9 million visitors a year and has become Bavaria’s most visited attraction since its opening on 17 October 2007. Guided tours, interactive workshops, a museum shop, and a range of culinary options – including the on‑site café Cooper’s Garden and the Bikers’ Lodge – add to a memorable experience. For those wishing to view a new model or attend a special event, an appointment can be booked online via the integrated ticketing portal (https://tkts.bmw-welt.com).
