Olympic Tower
About
The Olympic Tower, soaring to 291 m, is Munich’s tallest building and a celebrated landmark from the 1972 Summer Olympics. Its observation deck sits at 190 m, offering a 360‑degree panorama of the city, its surrounding countryside, and the Alps on clear days. The tower’s iconic metallic tent roof and sleek design make it a modern architectural icon as well as a monument to Munich’s Olympic heritage. Although the tower is currently closed for extensive renovations that began in June 2024, visitors can look forward to its grand reopening in the first quarter of 2027. During the closure, the city’s visitor centre will provide up‑to‑date information on alternative attractions and events in the Olympic Park. Whether you’re an avid photographer, a history buff, or simply looking for a breathtaking view of Munich, the Olympic Tower promises an unforgettable experience—once it re‑opens.
