This Medieval site hardly shows the traces of time and is in such ecxellent condition that it is meanwhile considered to be one of the best-preserved examples of a Staufer residence. Wäscherschloss Castle was originally the outer fortification to the erstwhile Büren Castle, whose inhabitants later called themselves Staufer, making this the actual birthplace of the Staufer dynasty.
