Myrtos Beach
About
Myrtos Beach, located in the Pylaros region of Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea, is renowned for its dramatic cliff backdrop and a mile‑long stretch of glittering white pebbles formed from metamorphosed limestone and marble. The beach lies between the hills of Agia Dynati and Kalon Oros, offering striking scenic vistas that have earned it a reputation as one of Greece’s most dramatic beaches. Visitors access the beach via a two‑kilometre winding road from the village of Divarata, and during peak season a public bus runs from Agia Efimia harbour to a stop at the base of the cliffs. Parking is available near the cliff’s foot and several tavernas and a beach bar serve locals and tourists alike. Despite its popularity, entrance to Myrtos Beach is free, making it an idyllic destination for families, nature lovers, and sunset seekers.
