Milos Beach
About
Milos Beach is a hidden gem on Lefkas’s western coast, just south of the village of Agios Nikitas. The beach can be reached by a scenic walk through the village’s pedestrianised lanes or by a quick taxi‑boat from Agios Nikitas harbor, offering a relaxed escape from the island’s busiest spots. With its expansive golden sands, crystal‑clear turquoise waters, and rugged cliffside backdrop, Milos provides a tranquil setting ideal for sun‑bathing, swimming, and watching the sunset over the Ionian Sea. Basic amenities are limited – there are no showers or cafés – so visitors are encouraged to bring their own snacks, drinks, and beach chairs. A new access road is underway, promising smoother access in the coming years, while the current walk and boat routes still offer a charming adventure for those who enjoy a small trek or a quick ferry ride. Best experienced during the shoulder months of May, June, and September when the sea is warm and the crowds are minimal. Early morning and late afternoon visits allow travelers to enjoy the serene atmosphere before the midday heat and the afternoon tide settles. Milos Beach remains one of the most well‑preserved stretches on Lefkas, making it a must‑visit for anyone seeking a pure, natural beach experience without the bustle of the more popular tourist spots.
