Caving Under Budapest

Take a trip into the magical world of caves! Explore the longest cave of Hungary in its unperturbed state! You’ll enter a labyrinthine world of natural corridors and chambers. During the 2.5-3 hrs long tour no pavement or floodlight helps your way, only your headlamp will give some light, and you will often have to climb across rocks and crawl through narrow passages. Be ready for the adventure! You can join us without prior experience of caving. Trained guides lead the tours, and you'll be supplied with the necessary equipment (overalls, helmets, and lights). Background information on the area: Budapest is the capital of the caves. More than 200 caves are known under the residential Buda side of the town. The caves in the limestone mountains of Budapest were created by hot water rushing up from deep underground - the same thermal springs that supply our famous spas. The area is on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
