Chef Gábor Fehér spent most of his culinary career in Budapest, Copenhagen and Paris, decided to open something new in the heart of his hometown. He opened Esca - Latin for ‘dish prepared for table’ - in its early form in the summer of 2015 and become one of the best gourmet restaurant in Hungary. After five years the restaurant and the chef achieved a higher level and reopened with a new concept and a more elegant interior in January of 2020. Esca offers a progressive dining experience through a procession of courses prepared in an open kitchen and served to guests of only five tables each night. With the greatest respect, these ingredients are transformed into the day’s set menu which contains around 20 courses. We offer only natural wines carefully selected by ‘Szofi by nature’ and we believe wine made this way tastes better, is more vibrant and suits our food perfectly.
