Platz is a vibrant, two‑story restaurant located in the heart of Budapest, right next to St. Stephen’s Basilica on Szent István tér. Open every day from 9 am until midnight, the venue offers both indoor seating and a generous 100‑square‑meter terrace overlooking the bustling piazza and the iconic basilica. Inside, the decor is a striking blend of industrial design and curated antiques. A central wall showcases more than 90 colourful, warm‑lit siphon bottles sourced from across Hungary, while iron stoves, copper mortars, ornate baroque mirrors, and restored radios and scales add a touch of vintage charm, creating a relaxed and inviting ambience. The menu changes with the seasons, featuring everything from fresh soups and salads to juicy steaks, fresh seafood, pasta, and desserts. Guests can also order tapas‑style beer bites or a full‑course special. The bar offers a wide selection of sparkling wines, classic cocktails, and local beers, complemented by expert sommelier advice. Every Friday and Saturday night, a resident DJ plays from 8 pm, and large screens display sports and events, making the place an ideal spot for casual dining or larger gatherings.
